This study will identify the factors that affect mental illness and then apply qawaid fiqhiyyah in the practice of worship for patients with mental illness. This study is qualitative in nature and collects data from a variety of sources such as the book of usul al-fiqh, contemporary fiqh, scientific studies, and related articles. The study's findings indicate that a number of factors, including family upbringing, social support, environmental factors, and biological factors will lead to mental illness. Inadequate stress management will result in the increase of mental problems among children, adolescents and adults. Furthermore, the results indicated that qawa'id fiqhiyyah can serve as the fundamental framework for establishing a person's eligibility to perform (ahliyyah al-ada') and for managing patient worship based on issues related to mental health disorders.
Nur Mardia Mazri, Zubair Amir Nur Rashid, Sa'adan Man, Norhidayah Pauzi Copyright (c) 2024 ALBASIRAH JOURNAL http://borneojournal.um.edu.my/index.php/ALBASIRAH/article/view/49714 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Konsep Keyakinan dalam Perbahasan Epistemologi Muslim Liberal dan Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah http://borneojournal.um.edu.my/index.php/ALBASIRAH/article/view/51071
Certainty is an important element in the definition of Islamic knowledge and epistemological debate. It is on this note that Islām, as a divine religion, has catered for the rights of man in all aspects of life. The problem here, however, is that these rights are exercised in the contemporary society without considering the rights of one another which is now causing a high level of insecurity in Nigeria as a nation. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to examine the rights of man from the Islamic perspectives with a view to safeguarding the life and property of individual and developing the nation. The paper has adopted analytical and phenomenological methods of research. The result of this research was that there are well established rights of man in the Nigerian constitution only that there is no implementation. Also, it has been revealed that there is no justice and equality in the application of the rights. The paper concluded by recommending justice and equality in the application of rights in the country to secure the lives and property of individual and for strengthening the nation economically, socially and politically.
Saheed Badmus Suraju, Olalekan Rasheed Azeez, Hamad Ambali Copyright (c) 2024 ALBASIRAH JOURNAL http://borneojournal.um.edu.my/index.php/ALBASIRAH/article/view/49430 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Critical Examination of the Concept of Laḥn in Quran Recitation http://borneojournal.um.edu.my/index.php/ALBASIRAH/article/view/51320
The recitation of the Quran forms a cardinal pillar in the daily obligatory religious duties of Muslims for spiritual upliftment. Recitation of the Quran in Prophetic manner is of great importance since emulation of the Prophet constituted an act of worship. It was however astonishing that many Muslims were unaware that it was a binding obligation to recite the Quran in accordance with the laid down rules governing it. In the contemporary society, there was wide spread cross recitation, such as mixing one version of classical recitation with another and mispronunciation of Arabic letters while reading which may alter the intended meaning. Thus, the objective of this paper was to analyze the conceptual meaning of Laḥn which was usually committed by some Quran reciters, and call the attention of the reciters to proper mastery of the science of recitation of the Quran for good recitation and understanding. Historical and phenomenological methods of research were adopted in this research. The paper revealed that the common errors in the recitation of the Quran included misapplication of the articulation of Arabic letters, and the rules guiding it among others. The paper concluded by advocating for the practical learning of application of Tajwīd, in order to avoid these common errors.
Ali Miqdad Mosankore, Yahya Shaykh Ahmad Copyright (c) 2024 ALBASIRAH JOURNAL http://borneojournal.um.edu.my/index.php/ALBASIRAH/article/view/51320 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Concept of Fintech and Financial Inclusion in the Light of Sharī`ah http://borneojournal.um.edu.my/index.php/ALBASIRAH/article/view/50796
A technology integration that strictly complies with Sharī`ah principles within the financial services industry is known as Islamic fintech. This suggests that financial services that adhere to Sharī`ah principles can be provided via cutting-edge digital channels referred to as omni-channels. By analyzing the secondary sources related to the topic guided with Sharī`ah-based information collected from the jurisprudence books, this paper aims at enlightening the horizon of financial inclusion from Sharī`ah perspective. As a result, fintech principles are upheld by Islamic tenets when they align with principles that support knowledge, innovation, virtuous conduct, human welfare, and considerations for potential harms or suffering to humanity. This is based on evidence from al-Qur’ān, Ḥadīth, Maqāṣid al-Sharī`ah and Ma’ālāt al-Af`āl. The legitimacy of fintech is still intact as long as the above-mentioned requirements are fulfilled.
This study aimed to reveal the extent to which Islamic education teachers apply the Qur’anic values to their students at the secondary stage in the State of Kuwait.
